Shakespeare's Language


Question: What can we learn from Shakespeare’s playing with language?

Answer: To begin with, note Shakespeare’s functional shifts—for example, a word that is normally a noun used as a verb. Spelling. Vocabulary—words that Shakespeare invented that no longer are accepted as words.
